Youths, and students leaders have commended President Bola Tinubu over the selection of the former SUG Vice President of University of Calabar and the current APC National Women Leader, Dr Betta Edu as a Ministerial Nominee from Cross River State.

The youth and students stakeholders, who are from all the 36 states of the federation described her as a very dogged hardworking Nigerian youth with the flair to serve the nation with innovative leadership skills.

A statement issued in Abuja on Friday by Comrade William Adeniyi, Former National Coordinator of Youths for good governance , said, the youth, students leaders, and critical stakeholders pointed out that Tinubu’s government had shown capacity and sense of youth inclusiveness and as such, it must be appreciated.

Adeniyi expressed optimism in Edu’s ability, and assured the youth that Tinubu has chosen wisely.

The former NANS President, Comrade Danielson Akpan , expressed appreciation over the appointment, pointing out that President Bola Tinubu has done the youth well by seeing them worthy of a credible representation.

Akpan said: “Betta Edu is a visionary, focused and hard-working youth that deserves the nomination. This kind of appointment has not happened for Nigerian Youth in a very long while; hence, President Tinubu deserves commendation, while Betta Edu deserves total support from the youth”.

Also speaking, a renowned former NANS Comrade, Hon. Odebunmi Idowu Id-aluta who is now representing Oye Constituency II of Ekiti State House of Assembly stated that the NANS Comradeship Community had for years been in the business of advocacy for the youth inclusion in decision making processes, which he said, had paid off with the appointment of Dr Betta Edu and even himself as a State House Member.

He added that as Commissioner for Health and Chairman of Nigeria Health Commissioners Forum she was well acquainted with burning issues of national development citing the challenge of healthcare coverage as an example.

He urged the youth to rally round Betta Edu in his new capacity, and assured that he had known her for years to be a reliable, and a focused young woman.
