The Student Union Government of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State on Saturday confirmed the death of one of its members, Miss Happiness Odeh, who was abducted a few days ago after her lifeless body was found.
The mass communication student was said to have been abducted along Iperu Road, while on her way to a movie set.
The student union, while sympathizing with the family of the deceased, said her death had nothing to do with her recent crowning as Miss Moshood Abiola Poly.
A statement issued by the SUG of the institution read, “Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Students Union (MAPSU) announces the untimely death of Miss Happiness Odeh, a mass communication student of MAPOLY.
“She was abducted along Iperu Road on her way to her destination. The deceased left Abeokuta two days ago to visit a movie location at Ipara, Ode-Remo with the consent of her parents.
“Contrary to the rumours flying around, her death is not related to her status as the new Miss MAPOLY. She won the crown on August 3 and the movie location she attended had nothing to do with her death,” the statement added.
