An Ondo chef identified as Adeola Adeyeye has begun a 150-hour cook-a-thon in an attempt to break Hilda Baci’s Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon of 93 hours and 11 minutes.
This is coming after another Nigerian chef, Adeparusi Damilola aka Chef Dammy embarked on a 120-hour cook-a-thon in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Adeyeye began the cook-a-thon on Friday, June 30, 2023, in the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State and is scheduled to conclude on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
In an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours set by Hilda Baci, another Nigerian chef identified as Adeyeye Adeola Blessing has commenced a 150-hour cooking marathon in Ondo State.
The marathon cooking event, tagged “Deocookathon,” will take place from June 30th to July 6th, 2023, at TMF Lounge and Bar, Ile Oluji, Ondo State.
In a video uploaded on her Instagram page, the chef, who is a graduate of ESAE University, Cotonou, Benin Republic, expressed her readiness to shatter the record set by Hilda Baci. According to her, she’s fully prepared and in need of the support of Nigerians all over the world to make her dream a reality.
She said, “Hello viewers all over the world, my name is Adeyeye Adeola Blessing. I’m from Ile-Oluji, Ondo State. I’m a graduate of ESAE University, Cotonou. I’m here to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours, which is 150 hours.
Let me show you a tour of my kitchen sector. As you can see, I’m ready for this, and I want you all to join me.”
Chef Adeola’s attempt comes a few weeks after Guinness World Records officially announced Nigerian chef Hilda Baci as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, with a time of 93.
However, this is not the first time an attempt has been made to beat Hilda Baci’s record. It will be recalled that a few weeks ago, a 22-year-old chef, Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, completed a 120-hour cooking marathon in Ekiti State. The attempt, however, was not acknowledged as it was not registered with the Guinness World Records.
