From recording a World Lead time to National Record and beating Olympic Games standard, Nigerian athletes were big performers this weekend.

▪️Tobi Amusan ran the fastest time in the world this season after winning the women’s 100m hurdles at Jamaica Athletics Invitational in a time of 12.40s.

▪️Godson Brume successfully defended his SEC Championship title and simultaneously secured qualification for Paris Olympics with a Season’s Best of 9.99s.

▪️At just 17-years, Samuel Ogazi becomes the third fastest all-time Nigerian athlete in 400m event after claiming the silver medal at the SEC Outdoor Championships in a time of 44.58s which also surpassed the standard(45.00s) for #Paris2024.

▪️Ella Onojuvwevwo recorded a massive Personal Best, qualified for the Olympics and shattered the 27 years record in Women’s 400m at LSU 400m after clocking a time of 50.57s at SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

▪️ National record holder in men’s 400m hurdles, Ezekiel Nathaniel becomes the 4th fastest athlete in the world this season, winning the finals at Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships in a time of 48.00s.

▪️Temitope Adesina emerged the winner in women’s high jump at Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a big jump of 1.90m.
